Responsible AI

Responsible AI at de.iterate

At de.iterate, we believe Artificial Intelligence should make compliance easier while maintaining trust, privacy, and transparency. AI is used within our platform to help organisations understand compliance obligations, interpret documentation, and configure their management systems more efficiently.

We design and operate AI capabilities in a way that aligns with recognised international standards and responsible governance practices.

Our Approach

Our use of AI is guided by the following principles:

Human-in-the-Loop
AI assists users but does not make final compliance decisions. Customers retain full control over their policies, controls, and risk decisions.

Transparency
We clearly identify where AI is used in the platform and ensure outputs are presented as recommendations or draft content.

Privacy First
Customer information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act and our internal security management systems.

Security by Design
AI services are integrated into our broader information security and risk management framework.

Responsible Use
AI tools are used to assist with analysis, drafting, and information discovery — not to replace professional judgement.

AI Governance

AI governance at de.iterate is integrated into our broader management systems for information security, privacy, and risk management.

Our governance approach includes:

  • AI risk management aligned with ISO/IEC 23894

  • AI management system practices aligned with ISO/IEC 42001

  • Structured AI system impact assessments for new or significantly changed AI capabilities

  • Supplier governance for third-party AI providers

  • Ongoing monitoring and review of AI systems

How AI Helps Our Customers

Within the de.iterate platform, AI can assist users by helping to:

  • Analyse uploaded documents for compliance relevance

  • Suggest mappings between policies, risks, and controls

  • Generate draft text for compliance documentation

  • Identify potential gaps within governance frameworks

These capabilities are designed to reduce administrative burden, allowing organisations to focus on managing risk rather than paperwork.

Continuous Improvement

AI technologies are evolving rapidly. We regularly review our AI practices to ensure they remain aligned with emerging standards, regulatory expectations, and our commitment to responsible data governance.
